I agree with your advice to entrepreneurs, especially tip #1 around choosing the proper target. I run a small business blog, and Defining Your Target Consumer was this week’s tip (http://bit.ly/bhul3r). Not only will you save money in the long run by focusing on one or two groups instead of ten, but you also have a better chance of creating loyalty. It always feels good when a business seems to understand me and my needs as a consumer.

Thanks for the article. I concur with your primary point that we should not let society dictate the “correctness” of who makes more more because really it should be “our” money. I did want to point out one correction though-the article says that 22% of women make more than their husbands.

I know this very well! My husband has an issue with running to his father for money without telling me. He doesn’t want me to know that he’s short on cash if we need something. It’s bad! Should I have a talk with my father-in-law or should I just continue to talk to my husband about it?

I feel that the First Family will always be under scrutiny but the fact that we have such a transparent First Family is what is best so that Americans can see that they are not alone in what they are facing in their marriage and families. When there is a driven Man or Woman in the house the one that is supportive has to give in and up to the fact that the world needs the person that they love. That is selfless on Michelle’s part. Had she been like most women (and I will not go into it) we would not be experiencing Barack Obama as our President.

As they live out loud before us we have a royal example of the realness of life.

That is a tough one MF. I have seen this happen. What I have discovered is that the man typically will not change his ways. Therefore, the wife has the choice to decide if she can live with it or to tell him here are some stipulations to make it work. I suggest you make them very clear and inform in a kind way. He has to know that the talk will come someday.
